CPU CAS holds PaghimaCAS 2021

Central Philippine University-College of Arts and Sciences conducted a virtual recognition program for the First Semesterof A.Y. 2020-2021 last August 11, 2021 entitled PaghimaCAS: Dungog sa mga Casimanwa 2021.
A total of 442 CAS students, 193 from the first year, 99 second years, 148 from the third year and one coming from the graduating class were given recognition as Dean’s lister for gaining a GWA of 1.00-1.63.
The official dean’s list in all year levels was released through the Facebook page of the CAS Provincial Council in which the top 5 students in each course and year level were also given further acknowledgement.
The program that was spearheaded by the Arts and Sciences Voice Prints in collaboration with the College of Arts and Sciences Provincial Council hosted by Irish Del Rosario commenced with an opening prayer given by Hannah Faith Sejera, BS Social Work III and was followed by the Philippine National Anthem and CPU Alma Mater Song.
Dr. Stella G. Fernandez, Dean-College of Arts and Sciences in her opening remarks left the awardees with a message: “Don’t focus on what you can’t do. Take a look at what you are capable of. Start off with what you can do, and you’ll learn more as you go;”
To prove that the CAS is a home not only of academic excellence but talent, Mark Janscen Bautista, ASVP Associate Editor entertained the viewers with an intermission number.
In an inspirational message, Prince Joash Dacles, CAS Council Adviser and faculty member of Social Science Department, shared two life verses for the awardees to ponder: (1) Proverbs 3:5-6 “Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not on your own understanding. In all your ways, submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight;” (2) Psalm 37:4 “Delight yourself in the Lord, and He will give you the desires of your heart.”
To conclude the Virtual Recognition Program, a Balik Tanaw Video Presentation prepared by the Arts and Sciences Voice Prints was shown.
