CPU-CAS welcomes new students with CASalubong: CAS Orientation 2021

In line with this school year’s opening of classes, the College of Arts and Sciences of Central Philippine University held an online orientation last August 27, 2021 at three o’clock in the afternoon with the theme: “CASalubong: CAS Orientation 2021” to welcome new and continuing CASimanwas this school year.
The facebook live CAS Orientation launched by the CAS Provincial Council hosted by Mark Janscen Bautista and Raquel Louise Delgado started off with a praise and worship song performed by Trisha Ann Marin, BS Psychology IV and Abigail Rose Marin, BA Mass Communication II followed by an opening prayer delivered by Rev. Cris Amorsolo V. Sian, a Senior Pastor at the University Church, CPU.
The hosts introduced Pastor Neva Grace L. Fabila, an Associate Pastor for Campus Ministry – CPU, led the scriptural reading and message highlighting Romans 12:4-5 “For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, who are many, form one body, and each member belongs to all the others.”
The program proceeded with the singing of the national anthem and alma mater song, and the vision and mission statements of College of Arts and Sciences.
“To our young members of the CASimanwa, I warmly welcome you all. This is your new virtual home, the College of Arts and Sciences,” said the Dean of CAS Dr. Stella G. Fernandez in her opening remarks, adding a piece of advice, encouraged the CASimanwas to take one step at a time, to study well, and to trust everything to the Lord Jesus Christ.
CPU-CASPC presented “PAG-LAYGAY sa Casimanwa” video to walk through the online learning process and virtual classroom etiquette, and proceeded to show the CPU-CAS Organizational Chart and the whole CAS Faculty and Staff to help Casimanwas familiarize the people behind the enormous college, and moved on to show a community tour video.
Within this program, Casimanwas, specifically the CPU Masscom Circle, showcased their talent by giving a special performance consisting of acting, singing, and dancing.
The program continued with the introduction of School Uniform Video Presentation, CAS Academic Organizations, Arts and Sciences Voice Prints, CPU Republic Officials, and CPU-CAS Provincial Council Officers, including the activities planned out for this A.Y 2021-2022.
CASPC initiated two Q and A games hosted by Gloryfe Dela Cruz, Jie Ann Faith Ausmolo, Kathrine A. Licerio respectively, followed by the wheel of lucky casimanwas raffle led by the game masters Karren Jay Asgar and GloryFe Dela Cruz during the intervals.
Ms. Erla Grace L. Agutaya, RPm, the Psychological Laboratory Coordinator of the Social Science Department gave her closing remarks, “Learning is not limited to the online classroom. Never stop learning and enhancing your skills. Don’t give in to the fear of not stepping out of your comfort zone.”
Pastor Neva Grace L. Fabila delivered the closing prayer, and the program was wrapped up with a baliktanaw video presentation.
